Fish Stocking

Fish Stocking

AES Europe Ltd are not fish dealers and therefore do not have large “stocks” of fish. As our core business is not centred on the buying and selling of fish we do not have the same pressures that fish dealers have in that we do not need to sell fish to carry out our business. This we feel, creates a pressure to sell fish that are substandard, or not even health tested just to ensure a sale is made. We know we are in a unique position to offer advice on fish stocking and provide ethical fishery services in a balanced, considered way and can ensure we maintain the very high standards that people expect from us.

 Health testing

All our fish are sold with a valid health test and this is undertaken even when there is no legal requirement to do so. Our fish are health tested independently by a leading fish health consultant, approved by the Environment Agency. Any fish you purchase from AES Europe Ltd will ALWAYS have a valid health test certificate. Further to this we do not rear common carp (or variants) in any of our rearing lakes minimising further exposure to parasites and disease.

As we have said we are not fish dealers nor do we have a fish farm but we do have two sources for fish available to us to sell fish from.

 Reared Fish

Every year we rear a number of native fish species on private estates including Roach, Rudd, Gudgeon, Crucians, Tench, and Bream. The fish that we rear are on private estates that are not open to angling. The fish are, to all intents and purposes, wild and are cropped annually to ensure the numbers are sustainable. None of these fish receive any supplementary feeding and as such are not artificially large for their age or length; they are simply healthy, wild fish. Further to this no fish are stocked into these waters once the initial brood stock (if required) was introduced. This means we have a closed system and can be sure our fish are clean and healthy.

 Cropped fish

Every year we undertake fish removals and cropping for clients around the country and often there are surplus fish we can make available to our clients. As these are cropped fish the species and sizes we have available can vary enormously but typically throughout the year we will have: Tench, Bream. Roach, Rudd, Gudgeon, Pike, Perch, Carp and, from time to time, other species. You might have noticed that Crucian carp are not mentioned here and this is because we only supply Crucian carp from our own lakes where we are sure of the pedigree.

As with our reared fish all the cropped fish we sell are health tested and will be sold with a valid health test in place.

As we generally have only limited numbers of fish available we usually ensure existing clients have priority at ordering. Please see below however for a list of species and sizes that are currently available.  Please note, however, that we will not sell our crucian carp to waters where common carp or goldfish have already been stocked.
